She died 4 August 1864 at Maquon, Knox Co. Ill. I have old letters written
the day she died. I do not know who she was living with, it had to be either

daughter Polly Eaton. I need to know who Polly married, can't find her

I am looking for any information on Wright ROBBINS born abt. 1829 where
unknown. His fathers name was Ezekiel ROBBINS and mother was Nancy. Wright
had at least one brother by the name of Rankin ROBBINS married Emma? who was
born in England, they had Ann, John, Adelbert, Lincoln, George and Hannah.
He also had a sister Nancy ROBBINS who married a John C. SARGENT, they had
Charles, Effie, Elton and Simeon? He also had a brother named John ROBBINS.
Wright ROBBINS married a Phebe I. SARGENT and they had Charles, Ammanda,
Margaret E., Stephen M. and Leonora. Wright and Phebe lived in Henderson
County as late as 1875 but moved to Knox County when is not known. They may
have moved there due to a possible relationship between a Matilda ROBBINS
and Elisha WATSON. Wright and Phebe's daughter Leonora was in Adams County,
Iowa by 1895 because that is where she married Edward "Eddie" Taylor

(son Edward born 23 Jan 1833) At Marion co., Missouri 1835 met G.W. GALE in
Oct that year when the latter was registering the Galesburg/Knox College
land purchase at Quincy, IL. GALE talked him into joining the new venture at
Galesburg. GALE m Sherman's sister Esther 1840 at Galesburg, she a widow of
Dr. David COON Jr. (1802-1834) of Russia, NY, son of Abigail and David Coon.
He is supposed to have tried to start a Sabbath school for colored children
in Missouri, his house burned by a mob. Rem to Galesburg about 1837 (per son
Edward's obit) Sherman is in the 1850,1860 & 1870 US census, farmer
Galesburg. Sally BRADLEY d 12 Mar 1888 at Galesburg. She was b 6 mar 1807 in
Brookfield, Madison co.(Onondaga?) NY, dau of Joshua BRADLEY & Sarah CLAPP,
of New London, CT. Interested in their ancestry and descendants. Need

month old son, Hiram. She had a daughter later, so Jonas must have been away

They had one child, Cynthia A., b. in Knox Co. in June 1838. With them came
the families of James Dossett and Cyrus Church. Both men were married to
WILLIAMS girls, sisters of Sarah BUTT. I desire to share with persons having
any information about these families in early Knox Co., most especially
their proliferation and migrations and whereabouts of present day
descendants. My line from Stewart M. BUTT is well known and documented and I

They were born 1825 and 1826 in Magheramorne, Co Antrim, Ireland. About 1848
they came to America. They first settled in eastern Ohio, then Jay Co,
Indiana. John moved to Knox Co,IL, near Yates City. I know little of John's
family other than he lived in Galesburg, IL abt 1910. James dau Lucretia m.
John Wertz of Galesburg, IL. Sons Robert, William and Orville all moved to
IL. James and John were sons of Hugh McKinty and Jane (Jenny) Glass. James
m. Dorcas Smith Whiteman, dau of George Clark Whiteman and Mary Spahr on May
14 1857. James spent his life in Jay Co, near Redkey, IN. The McKinty name
can be traced back to the 9th Century. It is derived from "Mac ant Saoi"
which means "son of a scholar". It was anglecised as Mac Entee, McIntee and
McKinty. I am in contact with Jim McKinty in Larne, Co Antrim, N. Ireland.

Flansburg in 1876, and they had children Walter born 1877, Daisy born 1879,
Leonard born 1882/83, Arthur born 1886, John and Otho. His parents were
Russell William Whipple and Mary Allen Whipple. They moved to Knox Co
according to obit in 1854 and remained there indefinitely/unknown. Probably
still there when Charles got married in 1854. Charles had a sister named
Lillie York or Medford Oregon at the time of his death in 1837, may have had
more brothers and sisters that didn't survive him. (8-98)

Venohah, son, (4); and George, son (4). Noah Simkins, 29 yrs old, page 39,
dwelling no 459, family 479, accompanied by his wife Jane (21); Jane, dau,
(8); Gilbert, son (2) All of the adults were born in Pennsylvania, Horation
was born Ohio, Diane was also born in Ohio, the rest were born in Illinois.

Robert R. SHIELDS was born 1852 in Jackson County, Alabama and died in 1940
at Galesburg, Illinois. He moved to Fulton County, Illinois during the Civil
War with his father, Jacob Edwards SHIELDS. Robert married Sarah LEIGH in
1875 and they had Carl, Fred and May SHIELDS. May, who died in 1948, married
Carl RALSTIN, and they had two daughters. I have much information on the
SHIELDS family and would be happy to share with anyone who can help me with
descendants of Robert R. SHIELDS and Sarah LEIGH. (8-98)
