Biography - Harmon G. Brown

HARMON G. BROWN. He is a son of Samuel and Henrietta (Hobbs) Brown and was born in Nelson County, KY, on 20 Dec 1803. His father was a native of PA, and his mother of Kentucky. He was educated in a private school in Kentucky, and brought up on a farm. He came to Knox County in 1831 and located on the farm where he now lives, in 1832. He participated in the Black Hawk War and was elected Justice of the Peace, but declined to serve. He was married to Nancy Hogan, 1 Sept 1840 who has borne him twelve children, of whom six sons and two daughters are now living. He is a member of the M. E. Church, and a Republican in politics. P.O.
