Uniontown Cemetery
Uniontown Cemetery is located in the southeast corner of Section 19 in Salem Township
Filed for Record December 14th, 1883 at 10:15 o'clock A.M.
This Indenture Witnesseth that on the Thirteenth day of February Eighteen
Hundred and Sixty five, Sampson Shinn and Edith his wife of the County of
Knox and State of Illinois hereby relinquishes all their right title
interest and estate in and to the following described piece of land unto N.
Z. Potter, Alvah Hulbert ?, and Alexander Grim, all of the County and State
aforesaid and to their successors in office forever. They being Trustees to
the above named premises said premises to be for the use and benefit of the
inhabitants in the vicinity of Uniontown for the purpose of Burying Grounds
forever and described as follows to wit:
Beginning at the South East Corner of Section Nineteen in Salem Township
Nine North Range Four East in Knox County and State of Illinois. Running
thence North 8.12 chs Thence S 59degW - 6.50 chs Thence S 49 1/2deg E - 7.33
chs to the place of beginning containing Two and one fourth acres of Land.
The partys of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty
Seven dollars & fifty cents paid to them by N. Z. Potter, Alvah Hulbert ?,
and Alexander Grim have relinquished and forever quit claims to the above
described premises unto the partye of the second part for the uses and
purposes therein expressed, Reserving to themselves the right to join Fences
at the North East & South West corners of said premises and to their heirs
and assignees forever.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals, this Thirteenth
day of February Eighteen Hundred and Sixty five.
