Biography - Mons Charlson
MONS CHARLSON. An iron molder, he was the son of Charles Frederick and
Catharing (Soldwin) Charlson, and was born in Sweden 24 Oct 1822. His early life
was spent on a farm and his education was obtained in the common schools of
Sweden. He learned the tailor's trade and followed it for sixteen years. He came
to this country and settled in Victoria, Knox County in 1852. He married Ellen
Peterson on 4 July 1856 by whom he has had five children, four of whom, two sons
and two daughters are living. He removed to Galesburg where he now lives, in
1863. he has been a member of the Lutheran Church for over forty years.
